Tosh Togo Autograph (Harold Sakata, Odd Job)

by Jim Sutter
(Biloxi, MS)

I have two autographs on one card - the Great Togo and Tosh Togo. These were two Japapanse wrestling villains in the 1950's. Tosh Togo was Harold Sakata, who played the part of Odd Job in the James Bond movie Goldfinger. Both autographs are on one big card. The Tosh Togo autograph has Japanese writing underneath the name.

Tosh Togo and Great Togo Autographs
by: Bill

Wrestling fans despised The Great Togo and Tosh Togo. Of course, that meant they were good at their jobs.

I'd value those autographs at around $100, largely because of Tosh Togo. His autograph alone should sell for that much. His autograph is a cross-over collectible. Wrestling fans, James bond fans and movie memorabilia collectors would want it.

It is most valuable to James Bond collectors. It would be even more valuable had he signed his real name, Harold Sakata, and even more valuable if he had written Odd Job under his name.

I don't read Japanese, but it does look like Japanese writing. Sakata was actually an American citizen who was born in Hawaii. He even served in the U.S. Army.

Before wrestling Sakata was a champion weightlifter.

Though his most well-known role was as Odd Job in Goldfinger, Sakata made many acting appearances. He even did a Gilligan's Island episode.

In 1998, Christies auctioned of Odd Job's bowler hat for £61,750.
