Tammy Wynette Letter

by Martin Chapman

In 1973, when I was about 15 yrs old, I attended a George Jones and Tammy Wynette concert. A friend who attended with us made it to the bus at the end of the show and tried to get an autograph for me.

Because the bus was about to leave, she asked for my address and was on her way. I was not told this story until later because my friends thought that would be the end of the story.

A week later, when I arrived home from school, there was a hand written note from Tammy. She hand wrote the note on her stationary and signed it as well. I was wondering what it might be worth.

Tammy Wynette

I'll bet that was a thrill. If the note is just a few lines, it is probably worth around $50. If it is lengthy and she mentions something about her life or music, it is worth more. Your letter has the potential to be worth a good bit more in the future than it is now. She was a good signer, but the market supply will grow smaller with each passing year. And she was the Queen of Country Music at one time.

A good letter, or even just a short note is harder to find that a Tammy Wynette signed photo.
