Signed Ink Spots LP

by Reckoner
(UK)

I was looking for Ink Spots LPs in a record store and found this signed album: it's a 1986 signed greatest hits album. It is signed by the Ink Spots of that time - Jim Nabbie, Harold Winley, Sonny Hatchett and Kind Drake.

I'm sure it is worth something having seen the prices of other signed Ink Spots memorabilia on the net, but wondered if you had an idea of it's value?

The Ink Spots
by: Bill

By 1986, there were no original Ink Spots. Jim Nabbie had been with the group since the late 1940s though. Many groups have promoted themselves as the Ink Spots, but the group that recorded your album were the rightful successors.

The original Ink Spots lineup - Orville "Hoppy" Jones, Ivory "Deek" Watson, and Charlie Fuqua - is the one with the most collectible value. Record albums, as we know them, weren't in existence then, but a signed photo with the original lineup is worth about $250.

If I were listing your album for sale, I'd ask $50.
