Richard Petty Autographs

by Kyle
(Iowa)

When I was young, Richard Petty made a promotional appearance in Iowa. I was lucky enough to get two autographs, but all I had with me was a piece of construction paper and a 5x5 card. I laminated them together as one piece.

Richard Petty Autographs

Richard Petty never turns down an autograph request. He could very well have signed his name more than anyone in history. Even considering there is a supply of autographs in the hundreds of thousands, his autograph still has value, and it is likely to grow in value, as he inevitably begins to sign less.

A Richard Petty signature on a blank card or paper is worth about $25.

It isn't a good idea to laminate autographs. The plastic could damage the autograph (will damage over time) and collectors want the actual autograph to be "touchable." Of course, this doesn't matter if you don't plan on ever selling.
