Richard Nixon Signed NAIA Program

by Gary
(Kansas)

In 1964, my Dad was an Honorary Coach for the NAIA Basketball Tournament in Kansas City. Richard Nixon, who had recently retired from politics after his loss in the 1962 California Governor race, was the Speaker at the Tip-Off Banquet. My father got Nixon to sign a Banquet Program at the event.

The program is a nice folded 8x11. It opens to the Menu and Program pages with the Junior Chamber of Commerce Officers. The back page is made up of Honorary Coaches and Businesses, sort of a who's who of Kansas City businessmen in 1964.

The autographs is on the front cover.

A Richard Nixon autograph is worth $200. The autograph might be worth a bit more on the program.

If Nixon is pictured on the program, and he signed on or near the picture, it could be worth even more, maybe as much as half again, or $300.
