Rawhide Autographs

by Mary Brady

My mother grew up in the town of Tucumcari, New Mexico. At one time, not sure what year, she worked at a local diner as a waitress. During that time a popular show called "Rawhide" filmed just outside of town.

My mother got to go to some of the sets and watch the filming. The crew and actors also ate at the diner where she worked and she got several autographs. Among them are Clint Eastwood, Sheb Wooley, Robert Cabal, Paul Brinegar, Claude Akins, and Don Keefer. There are others but those are the ones I can find online in relation to the show, plus they are mixed in with crew autographs such as drivers and gaffers and such.

They are not in the best condition and most of them are personalized like to Mable. Sheb Wooley wrote "To Mable you sweet chile best wishes Sheb Wooley." And yes he wrote "chile." Clint Eastwood just put his autograph and below it in brackets he wrote "Rowdy".

If you could just give me an idea of value I would very much appreciate it.

Rawhide Autographs
by: david brookscroft

I have a black and white portrait photo of Clint with a Eric Flemming(Gil Favor)black sideways silhouette behind him and signed "to Gladys from your friend Clint" and another from Eric Fleming(Gil Favor)portrait in cowboy hat signed "Sincerely Eric Flemming," a signed colour photo of Robert Horton with Colt 45, kneeling by a wagon wheel signed "Robert Horton," and another Gil Favor signed "to Gladys with all my best yours Eric Flemming (and in brackets) Gill Favor." What would be a fair price if sold together?

Clint Eastwood and Rawhide
by: Bill

That's a nice collection. Clint Eastwood is not an easy autograph. Much of his autographs in the marketplace are secretarials from "through the mail" requests. Those hurt the price of authentic ones like yours. His autograph is worth about $50. The others are worth $10-$15.

Sheb Wooley was also a recording artist best known for the novelty song "Purple People Eater."

Claude Akins and Don Keefer were not regular cast member of Rawhide. They were guest stars.
