Oscar Hammerstein Autographed Photo

Oscar Hammerstein wrote a personal note and signed a 5x7 photograph of himself and sent it to a friend who was a Broadway conductor. This conductor packed it away in a trunk. My family eventually bought the house that this conductor used to live in. Last month I found the trunk and the photo down in the basement. Any idea how much it might be worth?

You have some valuable autographs that are likely to increase in value over time. Oscar Hammerstein's collaboration with Richard Rodgers produced some of the most memorable songs in American pop music history. The soundtracks for Oklahoma! and the Sound of Music will always keep his name alive.

Hammerstein entirely or partly wrote a total of 850 songs.

Today, a signed note is worth about $500 and a signed photo about the same.
