Nature Boy, Ric Flair

by Molly Abbate
(Greenville, S.C)

I was in LA in 2000, and I saw Ric Flair having lunch at the airport diner. I approached him with a "Hey want to wrestle"? He laughed and we got in a nice conversation about Greenville, SC, where I am from. He talked about certain matches he had at an old forum that was here. He was delightful. I ordered myself a drink and he was kind enough to pick up the tab for it.

He was waiting on his family to arrive for a vacation. As I was leaving, I asked for an autograph. He pulled a dollar bill from his pocket, and signed it "Nature Boy, Ric Flair" and I have kept it in a book. He has now started to do some promotions for SC lottery and am interested what the worth would be.

Nature Boy Ric Flair Signed Dollar Bill
by: Anonymous

Ric Flair is always nice to his fans. He really likes pro wrestling - unlike many of he newer stars who are just in it for the money. There probably wasn't anything he'd rather be doing than talking to you while he was waiting at the airport.

He has always been a free spender, and picking up tabs has been the norm for him. I haven't heard that he signed a dollar bills routinely, but when he was making the big money, he probably thought of it as paper. Since that time he has had a lot of money problems, not surprisingly.

A Ric Flair autograph on a scrap of paper is worth about $10. I have never seen one on a dollar bill.
