NASCAR Autographed Helmet

In 1991, I went to Gainesville, Florida for the Gatornationals Drag Race. I was lucky enough to go to the D.R.A.W. auction where all all kinds of racing memorabilia was up for bid. I was drawn to a helmet that had been autographed by 35 NASCAR drivers and Bill France Jr. The helmet was donated by D.R.A.W. to help with expenses for Darrell Gwynn who had wrecked his dragster in England, paralyzing him. The people that acquired the helmet had notice I was very interested in it.

The next year I returned to Gainesville again for the Gatornational. I saw the people who had bought the helmet at the auction the previous year. They asked me if I was still interested in the helmet. I said "yes" and I have had it since then.
