Mickey Rooney Autographed T-Shirt

by April
(Illinois)

I bought a Mickey Rooney T-shirt at a celebrity auction at a local church in 1993. It is white with the logo for "Go Ahead and Laff" on it. Next to the logo is Mickey Rooney's autograph. I saw the t-shirt without the autograph on e-bay for about $16. I figure it should be worth more with the autograph. I am just curious to see if it has any value.

Mickey Rooney Autographed T-Shirt

A T-Shirt is not the best item to have a celebrity sign, but a lot of people do like them. They look great framed with printed material like photos or movie ads.

It is a more difficult to put a price on something like this because less of them change hands.

Mickey Rooney is a show business legend. His autograph isn't worth as much as it would be had he not been signing autographs for most of his ninety years. Rooney has always been a friendly signer. Couple his signing habits with his long life, and that's a lot of autographs. There are probably only a handful of people in history who have signed their names as many times as he has.

A Mickey Rooney signed photo is worth about $100. A signed T-Shirt is probably worth about that.

Its harder to authenticate an autograph on a T-shirt than paper material. Any photos or ephemera from the signings and auction will add value and marketability to the autograph.

Mickey Rooney movies will be around forever, so his autograph will always have value and has growth potential.
