Maytag Repairman and Apprentice Signed Photo

Maytag Repairman and Apprentice Signed Photo

I got this autographed photograph, signed in 2001, at the unveiling of a side by side refrigerator at the Sears in Pacific Center, Vancouver, BC. At that time the Apprentice (Mark Devine) was also being introduced and there was mention of Gordon Jump's retirement. Information from others I have talked to is that the Apprentice was introduced in 2001 and was to embody Maytag Appliances' innovations as well as dependability.

I have searched sites like eBay and do not see any other photos with the Apprentice. I have no intention of parting with this picture, but was just curious what it might be worth. This picture has been kept under glass in a picture frame since I got it in 2001.

Thank you!

Maytag Repairman and and Apprentice Signed Photo
by: Bill

That's an interesting photo. At Google Images, I found some photos of Mark Devine as the Apprentice with Hardy Rawls (a former Mr. Goodwrench) who took over as the Maytag Repairman from Gordon Jump. I couldn't find any with Jump and Devine.

Your signed photo has cross-over appeal. Both advertising collectors and autograph collectors would want it in their collections. I wouldn't doubt that there are Maytag collectors somewhere out there.

Jump is probably as well remembered for his WKRP role as he is the lonely Maytag repairman.

A Gordon Jump signed photo is worth about $25. (Jump signed though the mail for free for many years). This is a sharper, more colorful photo than I have seen elsewhere of Jump. A collector might pay as much as $40 for a photo signed by both Devine and Jump.
