Lillie Langtry Signed Letter

by A. M. Ponzio

Hello, I was left an original letter (C.1910) from Lillie Langtry on her stationary to Mr. David Davies commenting on his accomplishments as a horseman for her. It is in beautiful condition. It also contains a newspaper clipping of the day and also Mr. David Davies Obituary. I am very curious to see if it has any real value. I will be happy to scan the item if you need it to determine the value. Thank you in advance for your time and expertise.

Lillie Langtry Signed Letter
by: Bill

Yes, the Lille Langtry letter has value. Most people nowadays are going to know her from the movies. Judge Roy Bean, who showed up in a many movies, was infatuated with her. In the Westerner, the Gary Cooper character was able to manipulate the Judge because he claimed he knew Langtry. Other than the movies she is probably best known as being one of Edward VII's girlfriends before he became King.

I Googled David Davies, and there was a British actor from that time by that name.

A Lille Langtry signed letter is worth about $450. It might be worth a little more than that because it was addressed to somemone who was a celebrity in his time.
