Jerry Lee Lewis and Charlie Rich

by John J Watson
(Nashville, TN)

In the early 1980s, the Stockyard, a club in downtown Nashville generally booked up and coming artists to perform. On January 19th 1982, a weeknight, at about midnight a surprised audience was treated to a full hour of high energy entertainment by the one and only Jerry Lee Lewis.

He performed all of his greatest hits. I enjoyed the entire performance from about 10 feet away! I don't know where I got the courage to ask for his autograph, but I did.

Another big name entertainer, Charlie Rich, was was in the audience, and I got his autograph also.

I'm sure that was a memorable night. Jerry Lee Lewis has been around a long time, but he has never been a real easy autograph to get. A signature is worth as much as $50, but this is one that has potential to be worth a lot more in the future.

A Charlie Rich signature is worth $10 - $15.
