Japanese Comic Artist and Character Designer Haruhiko Mikimoto

I'm a guy who collects a lot of stuff and enjoys a lot of pop culture in the sci-fi, fantasy, and animation genres, but more than anything else I'm a collector of artwork and merchandise for the 1980s anime property Robotech.

After giving the issue some thought, I think the autograph I'd love to get the most at this moment is that of character artist and comics creator Haruhiko Mikimoto, the man whose phenomenal design and artistic talent first breathed life into Rick Hunter, Lisa Hayes, Roy Fokker, Lynn Minmei, and the rest of the intrepid crew and civilian population of the space battlefortress SDF-1.

More than anyone else associated with that show, he is probably the creator who has least disappointed me in the years since; his art style has changed, but it remains the same quality work he's been cranking out for over a quarter century. And boy can he ever draw a pretty anime girl. Of course, I'd want a little sketch or doodle with it -- but that almost goes without saying when getting an artist's autograph, right?
