Jackie and John F Kennedy and Frank Sinatra

by Marie Harper

I had an elderly friend pass away a few months ago. When I was cleaning her trailer out, I found a couple of autographs that I know are worth something and I would like to sell them.

1. Publicity photo of Frank Sinatra, hand signed in silver ink. Its envelope is postmarked 1967.

2. Letter from NBC Nightly News with Chet Huntley's signature, April 1967.

3. Letter from Lawrence Welk w/signature, November 1963.

4. Signed note from the White House with Lyndon Johnson's signature postmarked 9/3/1965.

5. Thank you card from Jackie Kennedy for expressing her sympathy.

6. The last one is the most interesting - My friend's mother was the campaign manager for John F Kennedy's presidential campaign in Nashua NH. He was at her home for a meeting when a song for the campaign was presented to him. He signed the back of the song that was already typed on the page. She told me all about this one. There is also a campaign brochure from that time.

All of these are in excellent condition.

We had to pay for part of her funeral and hope to recoup some of the funds. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

JFK, Jackie and Sinatra
by: Bill

That is an interesting collection. Assuming they are authentic:

Frank Sinatra Signed Photo - $750+
Chet Huntley Signed Letter - $50
Lawrence Welk Signed Letter - $15
Lyndon B. Johnson (from White House) - $1000
Jackie Kennedy Card - $2000+
JFK Signed Sheet Music - $2000+

Even though your friend's mother might have been personally acquainted with these celebrities, your items still might not all be authentically signed. Imagine how busy Jackie was, not to mention personally distraught, just after JFK's assassination and how many notes and letters of condolences that she received. Frank Sinatra generally did not sign through the mail. It would have been unusual for LBJ to respond personally while he was president.

Some of those estimates might be conservative if you have authentic autographs. At auction, they might bring a lot more.
