Hollywood Canteen Autographs

My aunt passed away in June of 2009. Amongst her things was an envelope with 2 tickets given to her by her aunt. They belonged to her husband who was in the Navy during Word War II. He was in Hollywood in 1945, waiting to ship out.

He went to the "Hollywood Canteen" and the "Columbia Square Playhouse" where he had these tickets autographed (see attachment..front and back shown)...Bette Davis, Joe E Brown, Roddy McDowell, Harold Perry and an as yet undetermined signature on the front of the Hollywood Canteen ticket.

I would be interested in the value of these tickets and possibly selling.

Very interesting memorabilia. Thanks for posting the photos. Here are autograph values for the names that you listed:

Bette Davis - $75
Joe E Brown - $25
Roddy McDowell - $25
Harold Peary (not Perry, he was radio's "the Great Gildersleeve")- $25

Your autographs are worth more on the tickets - maybe 2 to 3 times those values. It is hard to pin down values because the tickets cross over to so many collectible genres - Hollywood, radio, military. There are even people who collect event tickets.

If these were mine, I would try eBay and reach into all of the genre. Just start at a price that you would be comfortable selling them.
