I have loved Gerard Way, singer in the band My Chemical Romance, since I first heard him tell a bunch of fangirls that they're beautiful and not to put up with any abuse from men in their life!

Supportive male artists sending messages like that are rare to find indeed. At the beginning of his career he said, in all seriousness, that he made music to save his own life and to save the life of the fans who listen to his band, because he believes with all his heart that music is just that powerful.

His earnest goodness shines through and is completely admirable. I totally agree with him and he's just an all-around great guy who seems like he'd be great to have an intelligent conversation with. He has a good head on his shoulders, so I'd love to shake his hand and get his autograph some day.
