Gary Cooper Signed Letter

by Janet Collins
(Union City, Indiana)

A friend of mine has a personal letter from Gsry Cooper written to her mother during the war. She saw that he was going to visit the troops in the hospital in California. Her son was at that hospital, and she wrote Gary a letter asking him to visit her son and to ask about his condition.

Gary wrote her back a letter that he had not gotten her letter in time to read it before he went for the visit, but he did say he remembered visiting her son and that he was doing well.
I think the letter was typed (possibly by a secretary) but was signed in ink By Gary Cooper.
Does this letter have any value?

Gary Cooper Signed Letter
by: Bill

Gary Cooper received five Academy Award nominations for Best Actor. He won twice for Sergeant York and High Noon. In 1961, he received an Honorary Award from the Academy.

He appeared in over 100 films and became a major star with his first "sound picture," The Virginian (1929). He was a favorite of both movie fans and critics. He still shows up on all-time favorite lists, and he will never be forgotten.

Most dealers would list a letter like you describe in the $400 - $500 range, and the value of this letter will continue to grow.
