Collection of Grand Ole Opry Autographs

by Tracee
(Camp Dennison, Ohio)

I recently purchased a program booklet from 1960 that is packed with all the country music stars of that time. The book includes the following autographs, and a few I can't make out as of yet.

Little Jack Little
Lightning Chance
Peter Drake
Roy Acuff
Archie Campbell
Bill Carlisle
Patsy Cline
Cowboy Copas
George Morgan
Jimmy Newman
Stringbean
Porter Wagner
Billy Walker
The Willis Brothers
Don Slayman
Maxine Brown

Then the following are autographed photos, not attached to the book.

Chuck, Tompall and Jim Glaser
Hawkshaw Hawkins
Stonewall Jackson
Cousin Jody

I also have a Lonzo and Oscar program signed by them and I have a Grandpa and Romona Jones picture signed by them on the back of the postcard.

I also have a separate Patsy Cline cut out from an album. I have a Faron Young autograph on a piece of paper as well.

I have a poem and a typed letter both signed by Conrad Aiken and a handwritten letter and envelope from his wife.

Thanks for your appraisal. I appreciate it and looking forward to if these are worth anything.

Don Slayman Autograph
by: Don Slayman II

Tracee, You mentioned you have an autograph from Don "Suds" Slayman. Don Slayman is my dad. He played the fiddle on the Grand Ole Opry for many years as a member of the house band. He also played the fiddle for many of the country music stars back in the 50's and 60's and recorded many songs with the stars. He was known as "Suds" in the music business.

Would it be possible for you to send me a photo copy or a pic of my dads autograph? I would love to see it. If so you can send it to dslayman@hotmail.com.
