Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart Autographs

by Christine
(Victoria BC Canada)

Nana's Autograph Book

About 5 years ago may Nana gave me her old autograph book, as I'd always admired it. She's had it since grade school but when she was in her early twenties. Living in England, she was engaged to a man who had a brother who was a barrister in an office in London. Whenever a document would cross his desk with a notable person's signature on it - he would clip the signature off of the letter and mail it to my Nana with a story. My Nana would then paste these bits of paper into her autograph book and write beneath each one who the person was etc.

My mother got a hold of the book when she was a child and wrote a bunch of poems in it and scribbled pictures throughout. My Nana also had her classmates sign it when she was in grade school. It holds a significant amount of history and it's sentimental value makes it rather priceless.

However....

I'm very curious to know if it might be worth enough to have it insured.

Some of the autographs from memory are: Charles Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart and loads of "air aces" and famous boxers of the time.

Any idea what this item may be worth?

Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart Autographs

You have some valuable autographs. A Charles Lindbergh autograph is worth in the $450 - $500 range. An Amelia Earhart autograph is worth in the $550 - $600 range. The other aviation autographs could also be valuable if they are recognizable names. The boxing autographs might have value also, especially if you have world champions in the collection.
