A Buddy Rich signature is worth about $50. On the ticket stub it might bring about half that again, or $75. If you had taken a photo to the show and had him sign it, that would have been worth $300.

Even people who weren't jazz fans knew Rich from his frequent appearances on late night TV shows, among them The Steve Allen Show, Johnny Carson's Tonight Show and The Merv Griffin Show. He even appeared as himself on The Muppet Show.

Buddy Rich was billed as the "world's greatest drummer," but Gene Krupa's fans might have contested that.

The autographs of the jazz greats are probably pretty safe bets to hold their value and they might even be undervalued now.
