Bill Clinton Autograph

by Bob Rosenthal
(Lansdale, PA)

In 1992, I sent then candidate Bill Clinton a letter. He responded with, among other things, a signed picture of him sitting at his desk in the Arkansas Governor's Office beside the state flag. The photo is in excellent condition. Thanks!

Autopenned Clinton Signatures
by: Darrell Brown

My best friend and I grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas and were volunteers in the mail room at the Clinton/Gore headquarters back in 1992 (we were 16 at the time). We responded to autograph requests by sending an autopenned photo just like the one you described. Unless you met him in person or had access to him during that time (as volunteers, we were able to get an authentic signature), chances are you got an autopenned signature and if it was from the Clinton Campaign HQ, chances are that me or my buddy sent it to you.

Me too
by: Kelly R

I also have a letter from Bill Clinton during that time period. In order to test its authenticity, because it was written with a felt-tipped pen and not a ballpoint pen (which would leave an impression on the back of the paper), I took a drop of water and applied it to the very tippy top of the end of Clinton. It is real ink. I have compared it to others online, and it compares favorably with his known signature. Like the person who posted this, I too wrote to him, in late-July 1992, I believe. His response is dated 25 Aug 1992, and it is on Clinton/Gore stationery. I have been told that the letter is probably worth more like $65 because he was not yet president. It is not a form letter, it is addressed to me (my name is misspelled), though the reply is not all warm and personal. He included a printout of information on his education platform, what I had asked him about.

Bill Clinton

He was probably too busy in 1992 to give you an authentic autograph. It is probably a preprint, maybe an autopen. If it is authentic, it is worth $300.
