1956 John Lennon art book.
by Jeff Nelson
(Sacramento CA)
When I was in college I was an art major, and loved using these books called International Poster Annuals as illustration and graphic design references. I liked the late 50s/early 60s ones. You couldn't check them out from the library. You had to make copies of stuff from them.
So about a year ago, I got one on eBay for about $18, which was an awesome deal because they are usually like $75. They sold it as "Buy it Now" for $18, because it had a little water damage and the previous owner had written their name inside the cover. But the name is John Lennon! I don't know how they didn't notice that. Here is a picture of the "autograph" (not really an autograph, but..), and the cover.
Also, there are places where someone has traced some of the drawings. I read that he was in art school in 1957. So I am pretty excited about it, but I want to know how to make sure it's real or prove it or anything. I believe it, but how do I make sure? I do still have a copy of the eBay ad for it, saying that the previous owner had written his name in it. I have more pictures of it than I am allowed to post here, if anyone wants to see.
The ads in the back are for ad agencies in London. It's an annual publication, printed in Switzerland, and the ones at the library (in San Francisco) all had ads from New York places. So it looks like it was an English edition.
The scan of the fish tracing has the contrast turned way up so you can see it the pencil pressure marks on the back. The paper isn't as grimy in real life as it looks. And there are more tracings in it too. But nothing I recognize from John Lennon artwork. But I am keeping my eye out. OK. Thanks!

Linda's Pictures Photography Book
by Jo
(St Paul, MN)
In 1977, while I was vacationing in London, Paul McCartney and Wings were at Abbey Road Studios working on an LP.
I purchased my copy of "Linda's Pictures" and asked Linda McCartney to sign it for me in the Abbey Road Studios parking lot. She kindly agreed signing:
" Dear Joanne - Love and keep it up- Linda "77 "
I admire and miss her. It is very valuable to me, but I'm curious about market/demand/value?
It is the first British edition.
