Babe Ruth

by Catherine
(NY)

When my husband was very young, he was at a baseball game and got Babe Ruth to sign the back of a business card that he had in his wallet. He put it back in his wallet and carried it there always. When he died in 1963 I found it. The edges of the card are frayed, but the autograph is legible. Does it have any value?

Babe Ruth Autograph

The frayed edges isn't going to make a difference as long as there is plenty of space around the signature.

If the autograph itself is legible and not faded or torn, it could be worth as much as $3000. Collectors who will pay that amount are discriminating. If it has issues it might be worth less, but it still will bring a good price.

Babe Ruth autographs are not rare, but there aren't enough of them in the marketplace to satisfy demand.

Too bad your husband didn't have a baseball handy that day. You'd have a $20,000 autograph.
