Elvis Presley Autograph Elvis Presley Autographed

In 1955, my friends and I, at age 16, attended an Elvis Presley concert at Memorial Auditorium, in Raleigh, North Carolina. After the concert we went backstage, where he was signing autographs for a small crowd. He asked my three girlfriends and I to meet him by our car in the parking lot, which we did.

He was very nice and polite, and he invited us to have a steak with him at Swain's Charcoal Steakhouse. He told us he enjoyed dining and talking with new people. He also signed this photograph for me. We never went to dinner because it was a school night, my friend had to get her mother's car home, and we had a curfew.

I've had this original autographed photograph for 55 years.

1955 was the year Elvis started headlining shows. Elvis was only twenty in 1955, so you and your friends were pretty close to his age. In those times it wasn't a big deal for that age range to socialize. Maybe if you had known Elvis was on the fast track to becoming a legend, you would have suffered the consequences of missing curfew?

Thanks for a great story.

I take from your attached photos that he signed the reverse of the photo. That was common practice back then. A signed Elvis photo of that vintage is worth more than $3000. Some collectors might prefer one that was signed on the image, but I still think your photo would be worth $3000+. Expect it to continue to grow in value.
