About Me and This Site
Welcome to Collecting-Celebrity-Autographs.com. I opened this Website in January 2009. Two years later, over 500 people visit this site per day, and that’s counting each person only once if they return the same day-– and many do. Site traffic is at 40,000 page views a month. That’s a lot of pages, but the best is yet to come. If it isn’t already, this should be one of the busiest autograph hobby sites on the Internet.
Why This Website Is Unique Several things make this site unique. I am a Website developer, not an autograph dealer. I don’t just toss pages on the Web. I build pages that Internet surfers are looking for based on solid statistics, and I employ methods to get my pages to the top of search engine results over time. That's probably how you found this site. I’m not a dealer, so while you might find ads on this site, you will not find any of mine. The content on this site is written from the perspective of a collector with no agenda except providing entertainment and sharing information and advice. This site has a high degree of reader input. While much of it boils down to “how much is my autograph worth?” there are still a lot of good stories in the mix. Readers have shared their encounters with numerous celebrities, including Elvis, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, many of the moonwalkers, Harper Lee and every president since Eisenhower. That’s just a few of the big names. In total, this site has received over 800 reader contributed pages since I opened the interactive section last year. Now what will you not find on this site? I have been involved in the autograph hobby for 16 years, but unless the autograph is a preprint or something similarly obvious, I will not offer an opinion regarding authenticity. I tried that for awhile and decided it would be best to leave that to others. Those who own an autograph they believe to be authentic aren’t likely to be persuaded that it isn’t, and those who don’t own the autograph are often quick to deem it inauthentic solely because it doesn’t look like theirs. Autograph authentication is subjective. It’s far from a science and there is no last word. If you are a collector or want to become one, educate yourself. Get a second opinion if you like, but buy what looks good to you, and enjoy it as long as you own it. If you choose to sell it later, if it’s a good autograph with sufficient demand, it will find a buyer. It’s that simple. Search This Site or Ask a Question If you have an autograph and want to know more about it, use the “Search” function in the upper right corner of every page. If you don’t find the answer to your question, ask at “Valuation” or “Your Stories” at the left menu. Targeted AdvertisingIf you are involved in the autograph industry, I will be offering a limited number of site sponsorships at at a later date. A site sponsorship will place your clickable ad (to your Website) in the right column of every page of this Website. That means every visitor to this site will be exposed to your ad on every page that he visits. I will also be offering page specific ads and even dedicated full pages linked from other “relevant” pages. Pricing will be determined at a later date, based on site traffic at that point. If you would like to put your name on the list of possible advertisers, use the “Contact Us” form at the left hand menu. More About MeI haven't counted all of my autographs in awhile, but I guess somewhere around 1000. If I had to choose some favorites, they would be my Johnny Cash and June Carter signed program, Louis Armstrong signed photo, Three Stooges photo and my Harper Lee signed "To Kill a Mockingbird." I also like my Duke Ellington, Les Paul, and Ike and Tina Turner signed contracts. In addition to this Website, I own a travel site, gardening site and a financial site. I also help my daughter with the travel site that I gave her for Christmas. My wife and I love to travel and when we are at home we spend our free time outdoors fishing, gardening, hiking and arrowhead hunting.
